Read-a-Thon donations directly support our library renovation project and our classrooms.
For our ongoing library renovation, we hope to purchase additional shelving and tables, acquire more books, and catalog every book so our students and families can have a true lending library. For our classrooms, we'd like to purchase more comfy rugs, supplies, and books for in-class libraries.
Thank you for supporting our students' education!

Thank you for making our first PS 111 Family Reading Night a success!
We had a great turnout β between 100 and 125 PS 111 students and family members ate 250 empanadas, 120 slices of pizza, and 150 homemade cookies; listened to fun read alouds from Principal Gilligan, a Broadway actor, and parent- and teacher-volunteers; took home ~200 books; and got to know the new PS 111 library at its soft opening.
These events are run by a very small group of PS 111 parent-volunteers. Thank you! Thank you as well to the PS 111 PTA's donors and the West Side Community Fund for making this event possible.
Look for the first edition of the PS 111 Times, our new school newspaper, in your child's backpack by the end of this week!
Thank you to everyone β especially the students β who submitted work and helped start our first-ever newspaper (or at least our first-ever recent one)! Thank you as well to the West Side Community Fund for providing financial support that made our school newspaper a reality!

The walls, which had been painted multiple shades of white over the years, were standardized to a single, warm white color. The columns β formerly lime green β are now yellow, bringing the missing school color into the library to contrast with the dark blue on the window panes.
Thank you to the West Side Community Fund, CD3 Council Member Erik Bottcher, and the PS 111 PTA's donors and event volunteers for financially supporting the library renovation project!
